High-altitude hospitality
The “San Giacomo 1930” project seeks to reinterpret and modernise the bold vision of architect Piero Portaluppi, who created the “Wagristoratore” at Passo San Giacomo in Val Formazza in 1930. This unique structure, consisting of railway carriages converted into a restaurant and accommodation, symbolised innovation and Alpine luxury but was unfortunately destroyed during the Second World War. Today, its original pillars remain as evidence of an idea that deserves to be reborn.
