A winter dream
How did the idea of a deconstructivist architecture at Devero emerge? First and foremost from the desire to create harmony between the nature of the place and an artificial element, breaking down an imposing volume that disrupts a landscape of gentle, harmonious character. The Alpine landscape consists of trees, rocks, rivers, glaciers, moraines and a whole series of elements that have nothing to do with regular monolithic forms.

In my dream I saw an architecture in which rocks become exposed stone, forests become structural timber, and water and ice become large glazed surfaces. An architecture into which nature enters everywhere through light and visual contact with the outside.

Dining beneath the celestial vault, beside larch trees and surrounded by snow as though immersed in a dream becomes an experience to tell and to engrave indelibly in memory. Creating the first five-star “Alpine” destination means achieving excellence through its context, not through merit linked to bureaucratic rules.
Materials from history combined with the technologies of today and tomorrow in a perfect union that respects nature and the environment. Energy from renewable sources and environmentally responsible construction methods are now indispensable to every design approach; no one can avoid working in this direction.
Method. Comprehensive planning. Tradition. Welcome. Efficiency. Fixed points even within a winter dream.
My Cervandone Hotel is not merely architecture but an experience that anyone would wish to have at least once in a lifetime. Architecture itself can become a silent attraction, just like everything around it. I think of the melancholic charm of grey autumn days, when rain and mist create a unique atmosphere in which to immerse oneself before an Alpine tasting beside the fireplace.
A multifunctional facility with an underground conference hall and generous service spaces for the green area in front, where Alpine celebrations and events of every kind could be held without the logistical effort that has required long days of avoidable manual work over the years.
The structure of my dreams is conceived largely for a high-end clientele, completing the local hospitality offer with premium and luxury solutions designed to increase economic activity throughout the district as it develops in the coming years.
Every corner of the Earth is now one click away, and those who do not have to ask themselves “can I afford it?” seek solutions that are different and unique.
The marketing operations required to keep a dream property like this working 365 days a year become almost a game for those who know how to work methodically. For anyone who understands the field, up-selling and cross-selling at my Cervandone would be disarmingly simple, supported by the countless possibilities offered by the territory.

The first five-star… Alpine destination.
When snow falls heavily on winter evenings, a Walser man who is no longer very young likes to imagine a prosperous future for his beloved mountains.
A future that respects the environment while remaining aware that we live in the twenty-first century. A future in which local excellences can remain exceptional and entire families can continue living and working at altitude, creating a new generation of “mountain people”. Then the pencil takes over and gives free rein to a fantasy — one that will remain so because of many human constraints — yet will live in a parallel, virtual reality within a gentle and astonishing world. The pencil quickly gives way to the computer, and the computer to a headset that makes it possible to experience a waking dream, walking through a structure that dialogues with a landscape that is different, ancient yet contemporary, strong and decisive.
